In the last six months, I'm trying to smuggle my girlfriend into Sweden. I'm going in August on a study permit, but because we want to rent an appartment, she must be on the lease as well and therefore be in Sweden legally.
For a long time I thought she needed work for this to happen, because if she went with me on my permit, she is not allowed to work. But, then it hit me.
As I was reading the rules and regulations for migrating to Sweden, I noticed a "EU/EEA citizens" section. It was awesome. As long as you can show you have the money (or contract or other money-source), you may request a residence permit.
Free movement of people and labour. You've got to love the EU.
