Weird things about living in Sweden

  • Although they're driving on the right side of the road for a very long while, people still tend to walk on the left side of a walkway.
  • When you are discussing movies or TV series, there is this dividing line when they started subbing. Before this line, titles are in Swedish (Vänner for example).
  • Everyone is very polite, but avoiding your neighbours seems to be a favourite pass time.
  • Internet banking is soooo not the same thing as banking (still trying to open an internet account).
  • To get a Swedish ID-kort which is required by some banks to open an internet banking account, you need to pay the fee in advance on their bank account...
  • Either they are addicted to coffee, or addicted to sweet snacks so they drink a lot of coffee (with something sweet!).
  • They really don't mind to queue. But they also like to know how long they have to wait. Ergo: number ticket systems rule Sweden.

Actually, Stockholm is a nice place to live. It feels much more "open" than Amsterdam. Our list of places to see is still very long, but we have time :-)
